Vonda Jones

Vonda Jones is a member of Reno and Cavanaugh PLLC. She joined the firm in 2018 after serving as both the Chief Program Officer and as the first General Counsel for the DC Department of Housing and Community Development.

Ms. Jones focuses her practice on affordable housing finance and commercial real estate transactions. She has experience representing non-profit developers, government agencies, banks and investors in all aspects of affordable housing development and finance.

She is particularly skilled in assisting non-profit developers and mission driven organizations developing affordable housing and other community development projects. She has extensive experience advising government clients on regulatory issues concerning affordable housing development and operations.

In addition to her work with non-profit developers, Ms. Jones is active in her community and has held roles in a number organizations that support the development and expansion of affordable housing including as a steering committee member of the Howard County Affordable Housing Coalition, the vice-chairperson of the Columbia Housing Center, and she was nominated and served as a member of the Howard County Council Task Force for Racial, Equity and Inclusion.
