Senator Troy Singleton has built a career defined by action, leadership, and a deep commitment to public service. Don’t call him a politician, he’s a public servant, and from the start, he’s rolled up his sleeves in government, political, and policy roles at every level—working to improve lives across New Jersey.
In 2011, he was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly, representing more than 220,000 residents of the 7th Legislative District. Just six years later, he earned a seat in the New Jersey State Senate, where he became Burlington County’s first African American Senator, and continues to be a driving force for progress.
Today, Senator Singleton serves as Chair of the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee, Vice Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Senate Majority Caucus Chair. His legislative track record is marked by dozens of signed laws and a long list of awards from business, labor, education, civic, and nonprofit groups—recognition of his effectiveness and dedication.
As a leading voice on housing policy in New Jersey, Senator Singleton has championed numerous initiatives aimed at expanding access to affordable, safe, and stable housing for residents across the state. Under his leadership as Chairman of the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee, he has spearheaded laws to increase affordable housing development, enhance tenant protections, prevent foreclosures, and combat homelessness. Senator Singleton has also worked to promote responsible redevelopment, streamline housing and zoning regulations, and support first-time homebuyers—efforts that reflect his deep commitment to ensuring that all New Jerseyans have a place to call home.
Outside the State House, Senator Singleton is a Senior Vice President at Anywhere Integrated Services. He’s also deeply rooted in his community, where he remains actively involved and committed to making a difference—not just in policy, but through active service.
