Micah Hunter is a Project Manager at The NHP Foundation (NHPF), a national non-profit leader in affordable housing development. A native of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, he brings deep expertise in the acquisition, financing, development, and preservation of multifamily housing, directly impacting communities across New York City and beyond.

At NHPF, Micah is instrumental in developing crucial affordable housing. His key contributions include overseeing the closing of Curtis Cofield II Estates (56 units) in New Haven, CT and participated in the $21.7 million acquisition of the 37-building Towne Gardens (360 units) in Buffalo, NY paving the way for a planned $155 million rehabilitation. Furthermore, he was part of the NHPF team selected by Nashville's Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for a transformative 2,000-unit masterplan development. His local NYC development experience also includes, from previous roles, contributing to the conversion financing of Linwood Park Apartments (100 units) in Brooklyn and participating in the development of Williamsbridge Gardens (170 units) in the Bronx. During the pandemic, Micah asset managed six developments throughout Brooklyn and the Bronx and obtained NYSAFAH Community Access Grants to provide internet for remote learning in the community rooms of three buildings.

Before NHPF, He served the City of New York as a Senior Underwriter and Project Manager at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). There, he evaluated development proposals across the city, managed funding for affordable housing projects, and contributed to the HPD MWBE Build Up program. He is an HPD-HDC Housing Fellow Alumnus and a Mayor’s Graduate Scholar. He is passionate about fostering equitable and affordable development and is an active voice in the industry. He serves on the Advisory Board of the New York Housing Conference. Informed by seven years in child welfare/juvenile justice at NYC's Administration for Children’s Services, Micah holds a B.A. from Hampton University and Master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and The New School (Urban Policy and Management). He currently resides in Queens with his wife and four children
