Emily Chen is Managing Director of Originations at the National Equity Fund, a national not-for-profit syndicator of low income housing tax credits with annual production volume of roughly $2 billion. Previously, Emily held critical roles at two national Community Development Financial Institutions and helped craft and implement strategies to amplify impact through the successful expansion of programmatic and investment activities.

From her professional start at a health center in Los Angeles to her work now, Emily has consistently focused her professional career on mission-driven activities to improve the quality of life for the most disenfranchised and underserved. Emily has served on the Board of Directors of various not-for-profits and appointed public commissions in Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York City.

She currently serves as the President of the Women in Housing and Finance, on the Board of Directors of the Supportive Housing Network of New York and New York State Association of Affordable Housing, and the Advisory Board of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council and New York Housing Conference. Emily graduated from UCLA, holding a BA in Sociology and East Asian Studies and MA in Urban Planning. A first-generation immigrant, Emily lives in NYC with her husband and two children.
