Desiree Thomas joins TruFund as Vice President & Director of the Climate Finance Fund to support energy-efficient projects nationally. Desiree’s professional experience includes, affordable and workforce housing development, real estate investing, corporate and investment banking, and business development.
Prior to joining TruFund, Desiree managed her own real estate multifamily investment portfolio. She previously worked for TruFund as Asset Management and Compliance Manager overseeing the New Markets Tax Credit portfolio. She also held positions with Dantes Partners as VP Real Estate Development, Wilder Balter Partners as VP Operations, and New York City Housing Preservation and Development as Deputy Director - Preservation Finance and in Asset Management.
In addition, she was a member of the Business Development and Investor Relations team at Archimedes Alpha LLC, an emerging Hedge Fund, and served as Senior Vice President of the Financial Institutions Group at J.P. Morgan. In addition to her professional career, Desiree serves on the board of Unique People Services and Open Access. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School where she was a Robert Toigo Fellow.
She is a graduate of the General Management Program at Harvard Business School, an alumna of Project REAP (Real Estate Associate Program), and a participant in the inaugural class of Open Access where she earned a certificate in New Markets Tax Credit. She is also an alumna of LISC NY Developers of Color Training Program.
