Sheena Wright is a proven and respected senior leader who has led and shaped major philanthropic, government, and nonprofit entities for the betterment of New York City and its people for over 25 years. She is currently the Founder and CEO of Magnitude and B, LLC, a development, consulting, and impact investment firm focused on housing, community development, and municipal operations. Before founding Magnitude and B, LLC, in 2024, Wright served as First Deputy Mayor of New York City and Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives after chairing the city’s mayoral transition in 2021.

As First Deputy Mayor, Wright provided strategic direction, operational, and budgetary oversight for New York City. She played a pivotal role in managing the city’s fiscal practices, including the creation of the $110 billion annual budget and efforts to manage expenses, which secured a historic triple-A bond rating from Fitch. Wright’s vision and focus helped drive the critical programs and policy initiatives of the Deputy Mayors for Health and Human Services, Economic Housing & Workforce Development, Operations and Strategic Initiatives, who were her direct reports. As such, Wright provided leadership for more than 60 city agencies and mayoral offices, and she worked closely with federal and state lawmakers on behalf of the city.

Key contributions included co-leading the city’s Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and leading the development and implementation of the city’s Blueprint for Childcare and Early Childhood Education. She headed the City of New York’s successful campaign to pass the historic Community Hiring legislation in Albany that allows the City to connect low-income New Yorkers to an estimated 36,000 jobs annually, resulting in an estimated $1 billion in wages per year, as well as a historic cost-of-living adjustment and wage enhancements for human service workers totaling over $1.4 billion and impacting over 80,000 workers.
