Dale Burnett is a seasoned real estate investment professional that has invested over $14 billion of equity in real estate projects globally. Today, Mr. Burnett is a Co-founder and Managing Director of BIG Equity, a minority owned investment management platform that invests in middle market real estate on behalf of institutional LPs. He is a member of the firm’s investment and ESG committees.

Prior to BIG Equity, Dale led all aspects of the real estate investment business for Assurant, a Fortune 500 firm. He invested on behalf of Assurant’s $13B, asset management group and Assurant Investment Management, the Firm’s third-party investment platform he helped to co-found. At Assurant, Dale was a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Investment Committee and the CEO’s Global Diversity Council. Before Assurant, Mr. Burnett was a Senior Vice President in AIG’s Global Real Estate practice where he specialized in joint-venture investments globally and played a key role in the successful restructure of AIG’s $25B real estate portfolio. He began his real estate career providing merger and post acquisitions advisory services to the Blackstone Real Estate Group.

In addition to his professional activity, Mr. Burnett is a Governor appointed Board Director of the New York State Real Estate Board and chairman of the Praxis Housing Board of Directors. He is also a Council member of the Urban Land Institute, a Board Director of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and a HUD Housing Authority Commissioner. Mr. Burnett received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business where he was both a Robert Toigo and Consortium Fellow.
